I just spoke with my cousin, He's a cop. He wanted to make me aware of the increased thefts of RAM / Dodge vehicles. His suggestion: Talk with the dealership and ask for an update to the ECU (software) that blocks any external sources from remote entry into the vehicle. The high performance vehicles are big targets for this kind of theft! Hope this helps...

No. Thieves have an electronic devise that can bypass the fob / electronic key. It mimics the fob and allows them to start and drive away. The software update is a countermeasure to help prevent this from happening in the first place. The update would be specific for the ECU. That's my understanding anyway...

Why would something like this ever be enabled in the first place? Doesn’t really make a lot of sense. I feel like something is missing here.
It’s almost like saying “hey do you want your vehicle with the easy theft mode turned on or off?” Unless it directly impacts some functionality.

A lot of people on the trx forum have this problem. They have the option to have the rf hub locked to only the keys programed at the time of locking. This prevents auto thiefs and you from making new keys. But you still can have the problems with keys being cloned. If any body is worried about their truck being stolen, recommend you go over to the TRX forum. One guy just posted his truck was almost stolen. Btw, I’m sure Stallentis still hasn’t fixed this problems with up dates to the software other than straight up locking the rf hub.

Awesome! Thank you for the explanation. This definitely makes sense now.
So basically the caveat would be you can never, ever lose your keys? Also does anyone know how that would affect the digital keys?

I assume the key on your phone works off your uconnect app that connects via the bluetooth on your phone and authenticated through the on board cellular modem. As long as no thief logs on to your uconnect profile the phone as a key should be relatively safe. But like all things, I’m sure there is a will there is a way.

I appreciate the clarification! I just got out of a Sierra AT4 that was almost stolen 3 times and I’m really not ready for that headache again. Cheers my friend!

Where on Earth do you guys live? I've never even met someone who's had an attempted theft on their vehicle.

Wondering what you thought of the Sierra?actually considering an at4x with the baby max if my RHO doesn’t materialize here shortly

I've never known anyone personally that had a vehicle stolen in my 47 years on this Earth... until last year. I had a 1 month old Wrangler Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary stolen last year (Dallas), and my boss just had his TRX stolen 3 months ago (Houston). This was my only reservation about ordering a Stellantis product. The police said they are very easy to steal digitally, and the big engines are a huge target.

Fair enough. It never happens until it does. Just reading on this forum makes it sound like a hellscape out there

the thief's want the Ram TRX with a 6.2L supercharged Hemi V8 engine

it would surprise me if they want an in-line 6 cylinder

but then who knows

get this installed and no more worries

I really love mine.

70k issue free miles on my 2020 AT4 with the 6.2L. Leveled with 295/60/20 R Grapplers. Looks and drives great but I'm ready for something different and that Level 1 Ram interior - and a (JB4) tuned Hurricane HO

Within a 1 hour radius of any major city.

Find a certified shop to install Igla in your car. I installed it in my raptor and it did work perfectly!

The only problem is year 2025 has all new wiring architecture than pervious years. Hopefully the igla still will be compatible. Plus shops will need to be trained on where to install on the truck if the igla can be installed as is.
