I would trade mine in too but I'm just going to try to sell it to a Carvana, Car Max, or Vroom. Worth the discount.

Vroom went belly up. I was surprised at really low offers Carvana and Carmax offered for a 23 HD ram in excellent shape. Could be interesting for a lot of guys that go to trade/sell closer to when their trucks are due in.

Well, it depends.
Here is an example with my situation..
No trade:
Sales tax 8% 6k+ 1k -1.2k transportation =7k, only benefiting 3k or 2.7k from the discount.

With trade..
Sales tax 2k+ 1k - 1.2k transportation+ 100 gas "mine does 500 miles per tank, $40 for full tank" +400 give or take flight back=3.5k to 4k. I'll be benefiting around 6k to 6.5k

It's all about if you wanna deal with it or not. Lol

Unfortunately here in Virginia we pay tax on the new vehicle with ZERO deduction or allowance for trade value of the used vehicle. But, the sales tax is 4.15 vice these 6-9% rates of some states.

Registered toyhauler in Montana as zero sales tax and no personal property tax yearly. Harder to do a daily driver, especially with a loan on it.

Try a company called Carmigo. I sold a work truck through them and got over $3000 more than a dealer offered on trade in. If I remember it's a $300 flat fee if it sells above or at your preset price. If you have a payoff they take care of everything for you just like a dealer would if you're trading. The process involved taking some pictures through their website. After the purchase they sent a carrier to pick up the truck. I had a good experience with them.
