Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking alerts triggered

They will see there’s a problem, there is a huge batch of defective modules out there with intermittent communication issues.
This!!! Are the new modules any better? Will they hold up over time? IDK.

I spoke too soon..

Jumped in the truck, started it up....

...and the Infotainment wouldn't come on!

Let' it at the dealer.
Sorry man, this must be frustrating. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

These trucks are more like smartphones than vehicles it seems...

You are totally correct. Too much unnecessary technology gets in the way of actual transportation

Back in the 90s, I had a Chevy that was all about the essentials, just a solid body with an engine and transmission. That truck could run a million miles without problems. Now, Ram has packed in a bunch of unnecessary technology, which only leads to more issues. If I had the choice, I’d remove a lot of it starting with the passenger screen, hands-free active driving, evasive steering assist, intersection collision assist, drowsy driver detection, just to name a few.

Good news for you is they make that truck for 10k less haha

I took my truck in yesterday for the alignment issue... an alignment. They still have it because it takes 'special people trained on the vehicle' to do the alignment... what? Its not just how much tech its how unnecessarily difficult they've made it to do ANY maintenance on the vehicle... its frustrating.

I saw a youtube by a member on here on the battery issue... YOU CANT DO ANYTHING concerning the battery without taking the truck in... you can change it out sure but then they want you to come in and clear codes and reset things...

Oil
Batteries
Brakes
General Maint.

All of these should be doable at home in peace... I don't want to see the dealership every time I want to do something.

Left it at the dealer.
Service Advisor called.

The screen module has a "brightness setting."

Guess it's something we cannot adjust?

Anyway, it was turned all the way down.

Picking the truck up in an hour...

I have the same exact issues as you. I am not sure if it's cause I used the launch feature for the first time on Wednesday (3/19) or if it's from washing my truck on Thursday (3/20) and I might've gotten something in the sensors (even though it's clean).

Here's the timeline:
- Saw that the odometer was flashing and traffic sign assist is unavailable message on Friday (3/21).
- Got an email of my vehicle health report on Saturday (3/22) showing the two issues like you.
- Went to the dealer this morning (3/25) and the service advisor said that there were four active codes and that there was an ECU update. They updated it in hopes of fixing the issues, however problem is still there. Not sure if they just wanted be in and out with their customers but they told me to bring it in another day to leave for a full day. That way they can do an "in depth diagnosis." They suspect that it has to do with the BCM.

Fortunately, the truck runs perfectly fine so I'm not upset but just wasn't expecting this with a brand new truck. Just no hands free/cruise control, lane assist, no traffic/speed limit signs on the HUD, and the odometer continues to flash.

Thoughts?

How many miles on your truck?

She's back home. No issues.

to be fair, depending on the issues, you may be able to reset them with an obd2 reader (relating to battery swaps).

What ended up being the solution to the issues? Anything had to be replaced?
Nothing to fix, nothing to replace.

"Ghost in the Machine" errors are what I got out of it.

SHORT ANSWER: The tech cleared the old codes and tested all systems.

They tested out as working as expected.

**Sometimes we think of this as the "they did nothing" fix.. LOL!

LONGER, MORE ACCURATE ANSWER:

There were many hard-coded Adaptive Cruise Control & Emergency Braking errors from early December 2024, most likely during the build and quality control phases by the dates. (They showed me the logs.)

They think there was a minor fluctuation in these systems sometime last Wednesday, which was enough for the truck to reissue these errors. Since the truck now has a connected owner, it emailed me an alert about a problem with them because the original codes were never marked as cleared before the truck was shipped.

From my understanding, hard-coded errors are recorded to leave footprints/breadcrumbs for a technician/mechanic/engineer to follow for troubleshooting until they are cleared and stored. Cleared error codes are still stored in the system; any issues after a code is cleared are considered new.

Both blind spot and emergency braking alerts haven’t shown up today. Still dropping off to the dealer next week. Can these random alerts be associated with a weak aux battery by any chance or is it more probable a bad module?

Just wondering if I ask them to load test the batteries or would that be a normal test the dealer performs for this type of situation? From what I understand, my RHO will be one of the first to come into their service department, so a little nervous about what they look for or testing they do, especially with no alerts or lights on the dash. I just have pictures I took of the alerts. Hopefully there are some “hard” codes stored? My RAM app hasn’t shown anything wrong.

Guys, these drivers aid notifications and alerts are caused by bad modules as I mentioned earlier. No amount of resets or them going away sometimes and not showing up for a few days will resolve them.

They need to have their bad modules replaced as there are connectivity issues with them. It’s a known issue.

But a “known” issue with who? Dealerships or RAM? My RHO will be one of the first to hit my dealers service department so they won’t have any experience with it. I hope they contact RAM so they can provide this dealer with the “known” fix.

As you can read above from RADA, they didn’t replace anything so not sure dealers are aware of this known issue.

I would really love to know what it means to have a "bad module," like that could mean so many things. It could be h/w or component related, s/w or f/w related, it could be wiring/connection related...do we have any idea what they mean by this? I would assume it was a h/w or wiring issue; otherwise, I don't know why it would need to be replaced vs flashed to a new s/w or f/w. But if it is h/w related, how the fuck did so many bad modules get into these trucks? I mean I get semi-conductor components can have 'infant failures' where it all tests normally then fails after some amount of time but these are $80k+ vehicles so I don't know what to think about the quality control at this point.
