Picked up my truck this afternoon. The tech couldn’t find the cause so they opened a case with RAM and they called them back this morning. RAM told them to load test both batteries (both passed) and also check various grounds because they are “aware of known corrosion issues.” Sure enough, the ground they told them to check was heavily corroded along with three others.
I had various stored codes just like xkpgx81 had plus more. They fixed the corroded grounds, went on a road test and all codes cleared and never came back.
I then asked the service manager about the modules other dealers are replacing and he said it could be an “unnecessary replacement” of modules because the normal process after replacing modules is to check and clean grounds. So it’s possible that it is just the ground, not the module.
The specific ground associated with this module is G803A as noted on the service report.
I find it extremely frustrating that RAM doesn’t tell dealers to check and fix “known issues” before a customer takes delivery of an $80k truck.
Time will tell if this was the actual fix, but so far so good.
