I've seen many have had the dead battery or battery drain issue. I noticed my truck had the dash still on about 30 minutes after I ha locked the truck with the key nowhere nearby. Woke up this morning to a dead truck. Does anybody have a service report from their fix or any other information that can be provided to a dealer to speed up diagnosis and repair? My local dealer (didn't buy it there) had not yet heard of this issue. I'm trying to avoid a long drawn out process.

OOOooooo....

I've got a grip of smart battery monitors/chargers I use for our '31 Model A and '88 Bronco. (Not sure how we ended up with 5 of them over the past 1.5 years..)

I guess I'll set one up for the RHO until the charging gremlins can be exorcised...

I'm amazed by this. Most newer cheap cars even turn off dome lights and stuff if they sense a prolonged slow draw on the battery, but our $80k new trucks are going dark and dead from some phantom drain? Ridiculous. Hope it turns out to be an easy fix for you.

to be honest, I'm not wildly upset, trucks sat for a while, software bugs can be expected, and it's a hard thing to test in a factory when people using the apps on the phone aren't connected yet.

I just want an example from a dealer/owner that fixed the issue. That way if anyone has the same issue they can see it here, bring it to their dealer and it's an easy fix.

I'm not the least bit worried, either...

RAM will fix the issue, OR if they don't, California has some great Lemon Laws I can take advantage of.

Zero reasons to stress...

Heard someone say their WiFi is left on to so curious if this is tied to the dash being on. Disable WiFi (if enabled) to see if it shuts dash off too after shut down. I’m sure it’s a coding issue either way which explains why some have it and not others. I don’t see Ram having that many software releases for BCM but leaving some with issue and some without might make it specific to what options are selected in driver profile. who knows. Maybe look at other options too like disable entry lights, and other convenience options. Worth a try until Ram releases BCM update.

Kia Carnivals had this exact same parasitic battery drain. Took months to figure out.

Jump started it, battery is sitting at 13.1 v after 10 minutes, going to let it run for a while to see if it comes up, check engine light too. Not idling the smoothest, hopefully if it can building voltage up it will smooth out

I’ve done 3 battery conditions & full charge sessions on mine. I’ve had it less than 3 weeks, yet every time I hook up the charger, it takes a full 36-48 hours to reach float.

Something is killing these batteries.

I just had no change in about 45 mimutes. I just disconnected the main battery and still heard humming, disconnected the smaller one and the truck went silent. Going to let it sit for 30 minutes and then hook up a trickle charger until tomorrow morning and see where it's at. One thing I noticed, the only other light in the truck that is on when off and doors locked is the lane departure button(i have it turned off) on the top right of the screen. Wonder if that has any meaning.

I just woke my RHO up from slumber. I too keep lane departure off. As soon as it woke up, interior lights, dash & lane departure illuminated. I locked it & interior lights immediately faded to black, but dash & lane departure remained illuminated for 1 minute, then turned off.

I locked my truck using the handle touch square. How do you lock yours?

I've been using the key for, I'll try the door next time to see if that changes anything. The dash(speed and rpm gauge screen) and the lane departure light stay on for me, but don't turn off

After I pulled the negative battery terminal for about 30 minutes, I hooked it back up and have it on a trickle charger. Oddly enough, this time the dash turned off after a minute and there was a humming for about 5 minutes after that. Good sign. Going to start it in the morning and see if the CEL disappeared too.

I've had mine about a week. No battery issues yet, but I certainly hear than humming for a few minutes after I turn off the truck. I usually lock via the handle button, not the key fob. I haven't noticed any lights on the dash staying lit, but I'll check tonight. I also notice that when I walk out to the garage with my keys in my pocket, the running lights come on when I get close.

I'll try locking via key fob vs the door handle and see if I notice a difference in anything.

Has anybody used the app to start the truck? I did it last night before my drive home, after that was the first time i noticed the dash stay on

I already had my truck in shop last week for this same issue. They couldn’t diagnose anything. Replaced both batteries. Got it back Saturday. This morning, Monday, didn’t start again.

Had to jump. Miss fires after initial start. Runs rich.

Kill it. Start again. Miss fires go away but other systems in and out. Check engine on. Blind spot acts up. Etc.

Taking it back tomorrow to local dealer.

Let us know what they say please! There's obviously something draining the battery, have you noticed your instrument cluster staying lit up like mine did? I feel like there has to be a certain setting or something only some people are doing that is causing this, otherwise everyone's would be doing it

Truck makes a bunch of noises for a short bit. Figured all the tech and systems. Mild noises. Idk how long.

I do have the WiFi selected to my home network. Assuming this would be okay idea for any software updates that need to be done.

Did notice the dash and lane keep “off light” stayed on for short bit.

Walked out to truck while typing this and didn’t see anything on nor hear anything.

Yeah same here, we'll tonight that's the case, last night the instrument cluster stayed on for at least 30 minutes, possibly longer i didn't go back out to check, all I know is this morning the battery was dead. Tonight everything was off and no noises after a few minutes. Hoping it will start right up tomorrow, i have it on a charger anyway.

I'm going to experiment the over the next week with different setting and see if I can come up with anything. Luckily I still have a 2nd car where if I find it dead it's no big deal.

Has anyone tried turning the lane keep assist on that has it off to see if it changes anything?
