Ok guys, was getting a video prepared for you all to show that my truck is good to go after sitting 14 days in a heated garage..... and guess what truck wont start. I checked voltage on both the big and little battery both showing around 4 volts. I tried jumping it with a portable jump starter, did nothing. I have a charger on each battery right now. I am glad I didnt let my truck sit at airport I would have been in a bad spot trying to get home.

-I looked in manual to see if any special instructions on how to charge and not seeing anything unique about this.

-Has anyone else been able to save one of these batteries? Already in contact with Mark Dodge @AnthonyRI and Arron.

I'm not recommending any of these but look into getting one

I am having a hard time reading through all that.

Can you please post it in video format with a clickbait title instead?

Thanks in advance.
haha I know right, that was pretty difficult!

I already have one of the top rated ones from project farm....still wouldnt fire the RHO up. I think its because both batteries dead

I put a battery charger on the main until it hit 100% and then to the aux until it got to 100% and have had no issues since. My batteries were also down to 4 volts. I did notice under battery on the dash you can put it into storage mode? Have not looked into what exactly it does but found it interesting to see.

To jump mine that day to get to work I had to put a battery charger on the start option and put a portable jump pack on the aux for it to start. Was in a rush but sure if I let it charge longer I could have used just one.

great response...I would have thought that if a lead acid was down to 4 volts it would have some permanent damage? How long did your truck sit for it to drain that low? Had anymore battery issues or figure out what caused it? My truck has been good for 2.5 months on mine and batteries have been good, but truck sat for 2 weeks without moving so only thing I cant think of that would have taken it out ( I have never had a truck battery go bad from sitting for 2 weeks before).

I was gone for 2 weeks in Jan/ Feb in Chicago. Truck was dead when I came home. Dealer came and replaced both batteries. No problems since.
Jease...this will be an issue for me as my truck regularly sits for 2 weeks at a time. Other than replacing batteries did they find anything else wrong with it? Did you try jump starting or charging the batteries before they replaced them?

Yeah my truck is a weekender so I'm a little concerned about letting it sit in the garage for a few days/weeks at a time. First vehicle that I've ever had that worry about lol.

Replacing batteries sure doesn’t feel like a solution. There’s a parasitic drain on the batteries for them to pull down to 4v after a prolonged period of time.

I actually don’t even own a battery charger as this has never in my life been a concern… and now I’m looking into them for the most expensive vehicle I’ve ever purchased… and I’ve not even received the truck yet.

Like you, I also leave my vehicle for a week a number of times a year. I’m leaving for a week and a half starting on Monday, and it’s comical to think I’d rather bring my wife’s car just to feel confident we don’t get stranded upon returning from a trip.

yes I agree, Ram needs to address this and fix.

There was a bad cell on the main battery. They just replaced both.

Not sure what happened on mine. Might have been over the air update, app trying to talk to truck triggered something but in the end what I could see was the Ram puddle light turned on by itself around 10pm one night and stayed on until 2am killing both batteries. Since I saw this the next day on my ring camera I have no idea if anything else was on inside the truck. See the time stamps on the pictures. I was shocked I could charge them after going so low but maybe it only being like that for 6 hours helped. Other than that one time my truck has been perfect.

Pretty sure every battery from the factory is shit and will need to be replaced. The H8 conversion is making a lot of sense now. RAM must address this and fast, it’s ridiculous at this point in the game.

It's an AGM battery. Just charge it like an AGM should be charged.

I would assume a Ctek battery maintainer/trickle charger would be the best short-term solution until Ram figures this crap out. They come with ring terminals for for the batteries for a quick connection. They also have a cigarette lighter connector option to charge that way - although I don't know if the Rams will allow that type of charging. They'll charge lead-acid and AGM batteries by toggling the button on the unit. Almost all of the car manufacturers that sell battery maintainers use rebranded Cteks from what I can tell.

I keep my 718 on one at all times since I only drive it every 7-10 days. These cars make all sorts of sounds when you unlock them or open a door - modules and systems "waking" up and prepping the car for driving. I've always feared the batteries would be drained over multiple days or weeks without driving. I know of people with Aston Martins from 10 years ago that had to keep them on trickle chargers constantly or the batteries would be drained from sitting. I've heard of other European cars having the same issue. From other people's descriptions of the new Ram electrical architecture I fear this is the same situation until Ram figures this out.

I'll be keeping my RHO on one daily if it ever gets here. That's a whole other story.
