Battery is Dead in my RHO...

Ok guys, was getting a video prepared for you all to show that my truck is good to go after sitting 14 days in a heated garage..... and guess what truck wont start. I checked voltage on both the big and little battery both showing around 4 volts. I tried jumping it with a portable jump starter, did nothing. I have a charger on each battery right now. I am glad I didnt let my truck sit at airport I would have been in a bad spot trying to get home.

-I looked in manual to see if any special instructions on how to charge and not seeing anything unique about this.

-Has anyone else been able to save one of these batteries? Already in contact with Mark Dodge @AnthonyRI and Arron.
That’s how it starts. Dealer put both batteries on their industrial charger and then put a load on them. Both batteries couldn’t sustain a load. Dealer went round and round with Ram to get authorized to replace the batteries. Both batteries replaced then the battery switch. I’m told the switch tells the system to move from the aux battery to the main to start the truck at a green light. After that, Power Distribution Center only had 2.9v coming out of it. Both PDCs are on order with one being back ordered. Tomorrow will be a month in the shop. Keys are kept well away from the truck. Of note, if you look up the main battery by VIN on MOPAR.com it’s made in Korea. My ‘24 TRX has zero issues. All the new tech in the RHO and the new electrical architecture has the dealership struggling to troubleshoot it. The truck IS awesome. Just hope Stallantis comes out with fixes. I broke my own rule of not buying the first year of something. Keep up the solid work. I’ll be looking out for how you solve this. Good luck!

I already have one of the top rated ones from project farm....still wouldnt fire the RHO up. I think its because both batteries dead
I have a good friend that bought a 2025 Wagoneer - same thing. The battery died and we couldn't jump it with anything. So bizarre . . .

This exact scenario happened on my 23 Limited. I couldn’t jump or charge it and was forced to have it flat bed into the dealer. 1 week later a miracle was born. No idea. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Interesting, I am talking with MD and local dealer tomorrow morning to figure out quickest way to get this fixed. I have little patience with issues like this, so hoping this is resolved quickly.

I would assume a Ctek battery maintainer/trickle charger would be the best short-term solution until Ram figures this crap out. They come with ring terminals for for the batteries for a quick connection. They also have a cigarette lighter connector option to charge that way - although I don't know if the Rams will allow that type of charging. They'll charge lead-acid and AGM batteries by toggling the button on the unit. Almost all of the car manufacturers that sell battery maintainers use rebranded Cteks from what I can tell.

I keep my 718 on one at all times since I only drive it every 7-10 days. These cars make all sorts of sounds when you unlock them or open a door - modules and systems "waking" up and prepping the car for driving. I've always feared the batteries would be drained over multiple days or weeks without driving. I know of people with Aston Martins from 10 years ago that had to keep them on trickle chargers constantly or the batteries would be drained from sitting. I've heard of other European cars having the same issue. From other people's descriptions of the new Ram electrical architecture I fear this is the same situation until Ram figures this out.

I'll be keeping my RHO on one daily if it ever gets here. That's a whole other story.

I do the same - 992 goes on the CTEK and the RHO goes on the NOCO 5 when I travel for any length of time.

Never an issue, and I think my 992 drains the battery quicker than the RHO

Interesting to hear the 992 drains the battery. I’ve never experienced a battery drain with either Porsche when they’ve sat a week or more without the Ctek, but I’m not taking chances with their expensive batteries. My dad has sat longer with his 718 with no issue….still I’ve made him pit his on a Ctek now.

The NOCO 5 a jump starter, correct? Does the NOCO 5 have a trickle feature, too?

Really surprised you're having battery issues now, most usually happen earlier. Didn't you install a dashcam does it have parking mode?

Did charging them not work? If so maybe sitting there for a few days that discharged did them in. Good luck getting things resolved

I know someone joked at the beginning of this thread about doing a clickbait vid - but you really should make one and post it. The more attention this gets the more likely it is that Ram pays attention to the issue. If one of us has the issue, we don't have much of a platform to draw attention to it. You on the other hand do! Your vids have all been pretty positive so far and I have to believe some people at Ram follow what you post - give 'em some shame with a post about this!

Video is coming at 4pm EST today, I didn't focus on the battery issue on this as I wanted to show oil analysis results. I like the RHO, and have been positive on it. Most of my Rams have been great trucks, high value.

Unfortunately it did not work. I will keep all posted video going live on this this tonight about this topic.

I do have a dash cam and It may be in parking mode ( need to confirm) but I run these in most of my vehicles. This sat for 14 days, no doors opened, no jostling of vehicle as it was in garage.

Can you guys help me understand the logistics of these chargers? I get it if I have my vehicle parked at home for a prolonged period of time. I have a power outlet available in that case, can pop the hood and charge, etc.

What options are there for prolonged times when you’re not at home? For example, I do a few week long trips a year where my vehicle is at the airport. I also do one to two 7-9 day hunting trips where my truck is in remote country while I backpack out. In that second case, I’m in a really tough situation with a dead battery when I return. Usually off the grid, minimal signal, and certainly no flatbed tow truck is coming to save the day.

Does anyone know about this issue with these batteries? Are they defective from the manufacturer and replacing them solves the problem, or are they good batteries being drained by something else? Any word from Ram engineers or dealership?

I know not really a decent solution but someone could disconnect their batteries or install two of those quick disconnects you put inline that you spin the knob to kill power.

I'm up to 3 dead now, 2 of which wouldn't jump with my jump box, needed to be hooked up to another car for about 10min. Truck goes in on Friday. Best part is they have been at 4am when I'm done with work.

Hey B. I can’t find the post but these are the 2 batteries I bought. Here is where the NOCO resides and how I plug in.
