Update 1/30/25

Extreme vs. Trail Rated – Which MRT Exhaust is Right for Your Ram 1500 RHO?
The stock exhaust on the Ram 1500 RHO is way too quiet for a high-performance off-road truck. If you've ever hopped in, hit the ignition, and been let down by the lack of sound, you're not alone. MRT has two solutions to wake up the Twin-Turbo 3.0L Hurricane I6 and give your RHO the sound and presence it deserves: the Extreme Mid Pipe and the Trail Rated Mid Pipe.

I've put together two videos showcasing the interior exhaust experience, so you can hear how each system changes the driving experience from inside the cab.

Extreme Mid Pipe – Maximum Performance Sound
The Extreme Mid Pipe is all about aggression and attitude. It delivers performance sound at all times, making sure your RHO doesn’t just look the part but sounds like the beast it is. At full throttle, it roars to life with a raw, race-inspired tone, while at cruising speeds, it dials back just enough to remain enjoyable without being overbearing. If you want a commanding exhaust presence both inside and outside the truck, this is the system for you.

Trail Rated Mid Pipe – Refined Power with On-Demand Sound
The Trail Rated Mid Pipe shares a similar deep, muscular exhaust note but is designed for those who want a more controlled and refined experience. It provides on-demand performance sound when you step on the throttle, but during highway cruising, it settles into a smooth exhaust whirr behind you, making for a comfortable and drone-free ride. It’s the best of both worlds—aggressive when you want it, and composed when you need it.

These videos give you a real-world look at how each system sounds from the driver’s seat, so you can decide which one fits your style best. No matter which you choose, both systems wake up the RHO the way it should have sounded from the factory.

Thanks so much for the excitement and feedback—it’s awesome to see such an engaged community here on Ram-RHO.com! We wanted to drop a little teaser about what’s coming soon for the RHO.

The teaser footage was shot in the morning, right in the middle of Michigan’s snow and ice (traction was definitely a challenge). Later in the afternoon, when the RHO owner came by to pick up his truck, the roads had dried out a bit. This gave us the perfect opportunity to let him hear both exhaust options... That’s right—there are going to be two options: one quieter and one more aggressive!

With the dryer pavement, we were able to capture smooth acceleration footage for both setups, and we’re super excited to share it all with you soon. Stay tuned—videos and full details will be dropping shortly!

I used MRT exhaust before. Great company and I am excited to see what comes out for the RHO.

great stuff MRT! I love seeing the innovation, are you able to share any details on the stainless steel grade you guys are using on this setup and how the clearance is around the spare tire and rear coil suspension? Reason I ask this is some companies looking at air bag development for the RHO.

Nice! I’d say if we can make it sound as good as the GEN three raptor stock that’s a victory.
100% agreed...and better yet make it where you have valves in exhaust like Raptor where its loud and quiet!

Absolutely! Ram really missed that memo! That was my favorite thing about my gen 3. When on the highway or creeping out to my hog hunting spot I’d put it in quiet mode.

Following…needs a little more testicular fortitude in the notes! It’ll not get to my TRX sound, but that sounded good for an I-6.

Thank you for the support! 🙌 At MRT, we exclusively use T304 stainless steel for every component of our systems, right down to the welding wire. It’s engineered to deliver unmatched durability and stand up to the elements for the lifetime of your Ram RHO.

As for clearance, I’ll consult with our engineering team for precise details. However, I can confirm that we are designing the system to retain the stock exhaust tips. We've heard a lot of feedback from the community about keeping the factory tips, and we’re making sure they stay in place.

Additionally, if new suspension products hit the market—like airbag systems—we’re always ready to develop new variations of our exhaust to fit those setups. MRT is all about innovation and adapting to the needs of our customers.

Let us know if you have any other questions—we're here to help! 👊

Are there local shops that will install?
Great question! 🙌 We design all of our systems with the DIY'er in mind, making them easy to install at home. However, if you prefer, we can install the system at our shop in Plymouth, MI. Alternatively, any reputable local shop should be able to handle the installation as well. If you need any guidance, feel free to reach out!

Let us know if you have more questions! 😊

I appreciate your drive to make improvements , but to me, it sounds like a fart can. IMO I’m looking for something that doesn’t sound rice. Maybe it’s just my speakers. :)

Great to hear on 304ss and weld wire, thats impressive quality. Glad to hear this!

This could be the best sounding exhaust I heard so far. It's just so hard to judge the sound from a video Knowing that it can never capture the true sound. I think the stock RHo exhaust sounds like a vacuum cleaner, in all the videos I've seen, but in person it sounds different and absolutely love it.

@MRT Performance do you think it sounds different in person with this exhaust?
