Just purchased truck few hours ago and it died while driving on highway

Dealer is 5 hours away for me. I can’t imagine getting stuck down there. What a nightmare. Maybe they can loan you your own car back (if you had a trade) until it gets fixed.

Unbelievable, sorry to hear that. Has anyone else experienced this issue so frequently with different companies? I’ve purchased many new model year cars and have never encountered or heard anything like this

So sorry for the issues you’re having! Maybe I missed it, but has anyone had issues with one dealership more than the other? I.e helfman dodge vs mark dodge? Is it a factory issue or more of a PDI thing?

Definitely an issue from the factory affecting more than just the RHO

On the other hand, you could literally just leave the key in the truck and rest assured that nobody could drive away with it.

Hopefully they get you squared away fast and your new year starts off better!
Yeah I’m really hoping it was just a loose wire harness or something stupid.. this thing is beautiful and drove so smooth. Really hope it’s not something they can’t handle.

Did anything leak?
Nope I checked. Couldn’t see any physical issues looking under truck and under hood. It’s dark and I just had my phone light… before the truck stopped completely I heard something whipping or slapping under hood. As if a rope or wire caught a tire or belt and flung around under hood.

I just checked the app, shows my recent trips and shows average MPG.. on the last drive I just did 6.8 miles the app shows 2.49 MPG??? 2.71 gallons consumed in 6.8 miles????? On the truck dashboard it said something like 12 mpg.. I was feathering the throttle, never even gave more than 10% throttle yet. App has to be way off.

Could be belt. ???

Hey yall.. I picked up my truck a few hours ago and truck has 51 miles.. driving on the highway engine started to shake hard under any acceleration and then 20 seconds later died and headlights turned off leaving my wife and I stranded on the side of a highway, lucky had a spot to roll into off the side of the road. As soon as engine died something sounded like it was flapping under the hood, like something broke loose. Won’t crank over.
Damn really sucks to hear. Was it completely dead or were there any light shows going on with weird noises inside and maybe some of the other exterior lights? Trying to see if it's similar to mine when my truck died in the parking lot

When my truck died I did open the fuse box and idk it's been a long time since I touch but I'm pretty certain I pushed like 2 or 3 of them a little further in. I have no idea if it did anything since my dealer replaced my batteries. 300 miles in and so far good. Haven't hit the magical 500 yet

Sorry this happened to you! I had full plans to fly to Mark & drive my truck back to CO, with all these issue I'm thinking I'll just have it shipped, at least when it shits out on me I wont be in the middle of nowhere!

Sorry to hear. Not that this will be the same issue, but before my cats melted mine died making a left into oncoming intersection and like you I had enough momentum to push me across into shoulder. All emerging lights flashed a few times and engine shuddered right before hand. Different from yours in that mine turned over a few minutes later. CEL came on days later with the misfires / cats

With these random battery issues popping up all over the place, I'm wondering if that module behind the uconnect display is causing everyone's issues. Sounds like a bad batch of them may have come thru the factory. I know one person received a service warning for uconnect and could be related to that module as well. That module controls a large portion of the systems in the truck and seems like a possible culprit. I can't remember the actual acronym for the module, but BCM keeps coming to mind. I also found a service advisory for the USB media hub causing power drain. Screenshot attached.

I shipped mine. Derrick was the bright spot at Mark. He went back to lot after hours on a Saturday to get it loaded because the shipper was late. I watched it make its way across the bottom of Colorado - the same roads I had driven just 24 hrs previously. With as much gravel as Colorado puts on the roads, I'm glad it was on top and in the back. The shipping process went well.

Does anyone have the wiring schematic to show what fuse controls power to the usb media module? If we could narrow that down then could be a possible try to pull it and see if the power drain stops happening.

Ya I dropped the bug in Anthonys ear yesterday about it, he said no problem. Do you mind sharing what the shipping cost was? Truck looks great!

Interior lights on but headlights turned off while driving 65mph at night… when I tried to start it after pulling over the headlights flashed like strobe light and turned off
