Just purchased truck few hours ago and it died while driving on highway

Sorry to hear. Not that this will be the same issue, but before my cats melted mine died making a left into oncoming intersection and like you I had enough momentum to push me across into shoulder. All emerging lights flashed a few times and engine shuddered right before hand. Different from yours in that mine turned over a few minutes later. CEL came on days later with the misfires / cats
I pray it doesn't happen, but if this isn't fixed, some families are going to get injured or worse. Please don't happen!

This was my first thought. If Ram doesn't do something, a rash of lemons is going to be the least of their concerns.

I have been willing to deal with pretty much anything, but this may have been the incident that moves me away from the RHO. I just can’t see myself risking my families safety over this. It doesn’t make sense. I’m really bummed. But there’s nothing worth risking that. I feel conflicted, because if it runs well and without issue, it’s a one of a kind truck with nothing else like it on the market, and personally I think it looks amazing and has so many great features.

But… I can’t imagine driving with my wife and dog(eventually child), and having this kind of incident occur. Yikes…

Interior lights on but headlights turned off while driving 65mph at night… when I tried to start it after pulling over the headlights flashed like strobe light and turned off
That sounds similar to mine. Hopefully with new batteries and checking fuse boxes it'll be good. I'll be reaching 500+ miles today so I'll be reporting back if any other issues come up

Yeah I’m really hoping it was just a loose wire harness or something stupid.. this thing is beautiful and drove so smooth. Really hope it’s not something they can’t handle.
Man that sucks. Buy an expensive truck and can’t even enjoy it. Hope they figure it out quickly and get you fixed up. In my opinion if you have an issue within the first 5k miles these companies should give you a couple thousand back lol

Sorry this happened to you! I had full plans to fly to Mark & drive my truck back to CO, with all these issue I'm thinking I'll just have it shipped, at least when it shits out on me I wont be in the middle of nowhere!
Same here. I was going to pick mine up and make a fun road trip out of it with one of my sons, now I doubt I will. Hell, I’m second guessing if I should take delivery at all. These types of problems that leave you stranded, and in potentially dangerous situations where the trucks just shut down, should not be cropping up with these trucks.

I bet you want to tell the service director what he can do with the key!
Remember, the service people will do everything in their power to help. They did not build the truck. They are left “holding the bag”…don’t be the sh#t in the bag!

Banger, I know you are just being funny. A little lightheartedness is needed when stuff like this happens.

And no, I don’t work for a dealership.

Hey yall.. I picked up my truck a few hours ago and truck has 51 miles.. driving on the highway engine started to shake hard under any acceleration and then 20 seconds later died and headlights turned off leaving my wife and I stranded on the side of a highway, lucky had a spot to roll into off the side of the road. As soon as engine died something sounded like it was flapping under the hood, like something broke loose. Won’t crank over.
I’m 100% out at this point, it’s a hard no when family members could be hurt or stranded, what the fuck RAM!!! Sorry this happened to you bro, it’s fucking outrageous! We all need to make these things go viral and cause a shit storm for RAM! Demand they stop production until all issues are resolved and they fire all the mother fuckers that do half ass work and put lives in danger, it’s completely unacceptable. Apologize for the F bombs, I’m pissed this keeps happening to good people, but when it comes to our families and their safety, we cannot and will not settle, this is serious stuff that needs immediate investigation of the highest urgency. Thank God nothing life threatening happened to y’all or anybody else for that matter. I wish you the best outcome possible.

I think I'm in the same boat man. When it comes to safety of my family I'm out. I think about if i went to pass someone wit the family in the car and the truck just dies completely, seriously dangerous, or going to pull out on o a busy street. I was going to test drive a RHO today a local dealership got while waiting on mine but after reading this i do not even want to test drive one, death trap.

The TRX and gen 3 raptor are Reliable as hell so i think i will just get one of those for the next year or 2. maybe a 26 RHO if they get their shit together.

Same here. And, I've got one in order. If "bad" happens that 1k lost won't seem so important.

I ordered my RHO on Christmas Eve. These failures have me second guessing that decision.

Literally exactly how I feel and likely my plan. I think I’ll end up with a raptor realistically. I would prefer the RHO- better truck (IF it works) in every way- but zero trust in reliability after all of this…
It’s so disappointing… but I refuse to risk my family’s safety. No chance.

100%- $1k is not even a drop in the bucket on that.

I live in Arizona, our Lemon Law applies if you live here and primarily use the vehicle here. Here if a vehicle is out of service (at the dealer) for 30 days or more within the first 2 years/24k miles, or has been at the dealer 4 or more times to fix the same issue, then a replacement vehicle or full refund is to be provided to the vehicle owner. Everyone should get to know their state lemon laws and whether or not they can go by their home state or need to go by Lemon Law rules of the state they purchased in - DOCUMENT ALL DATES AND INFO RELATED TO ANY SHOP/REPAIR TIME.

Dang that really sucks man. Sorry to hear that. This all makes me glad I bailed on my L0 when the ford conquest didn’t work for me; took it as a sign it wasn’t meant to be.

Working on learning Florida Lemon Law information as it applies to out of state purchase. Shameful we have to even do this, shame.

I hope it’s a simple fix, damn sorry to hear this and how dangerous it was. FYI they (Stelantis) may give you a lifetime warranty. Call and bitch. We had BAD experiences with our brand new Durango, and they gave it to us. Fortunately after they fixed it, trouble free but the assurance was welcomed.
