Some background, in the past 2 plus decades I have read, written, and/or edited 100's of thousands of contracts and purchased MANY new vehicles from dealers. I've only had 2 pleasant dealer experiences where they didn't try to slide hidden nonsense in, left room for bs or conveniently not sign their contracts to get out of them. The two pleasant experiences I've had (one being employee pricing) had one thing in common, completely transparent communication and contracts that were written in easy-to-understand language. Where Mark-Dodge drastically improved upon this (in my opinion) is they take transparency and alignment to the next level by providing several additional documents, written plainly to explain what they are and aren't doing, what you are and aren't paying for, etc. This provides us (the buyer) with peace of mind, but also them (the seller) with peace of mind that people will hold to their end, which makes sense for a volume dealer that doesn't want to be left holding the bag. Fun fact, holding the bag is a horrible business model.
All that it is to say, my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I've been a human hot potato and passed around from person to person and not one person has dropped me
As a person that is very self-aware and accustomed to being wrong often enough to be a professional in the world of apologies, I'd recommend sending the MD team an edible arrangement, along with your apology and working through it. Personally, I'd feel silly if I lost 1k, the respect of hard-working people at MD, and had to tuck my tail to deal with local bottom feeding dealer.... but that's me, you do you.
Quick edit-if you are still sore and believe your beef legitimate, then you very much should explain the particulars. As of now the hearsay is as vague as finding for a campsite on a no moon night, with no lights and thick fog.
