That's actually pretty shitty on thier part that they would not give you a couple weeks to get everything in line.I tried to post an explanation but the moderators flagged it for some reason. Long story short the truck came in sooner than expected which was great but I explained to them I needed two weeks to hold the truck. Offered 10k wire to show my intentions. Was told to "buy now or forfeit". Mind you I ordered the truck in May of last year and tracker showed Feb delivery which is why I planned my finances around Feb delivery. Tried to also roll my 1k to a new order if they couldn't hold it two weeks. Nope no working with me nothing. Deal would've been completed by month end. Even shifted some things around on my end to push that timeframe up. Still didn't care....
I don't blame them for not wanting to hold it. But in the grand scheme of things, yes I had every intention to buy. Even offering additional deposit to prove my level of interest. Just bad timing is all it boils down to, but they truly couldn't wait a couple weeks? That's what I have a hard time with. If they have a buyer they can make more money in it great sell the truck and refund me my deposit. Win-win for everyone. If it's going to sit on the lot and rack up floor plan fees wouldn't it make more sense to honor our agreement and wait? Just my thoughts...I don't think they are being unreasonable. They can sell a truck on the lot for a lot more - and if you aren't in a position to pull the trigger now, how do they know you will be in two weeks? My understanding when I ordered mine is that it would be purchased as soon as they had it - not weeks later. To be honest, this sounds like you not upholding your side of the deal - not them. Your original post said they didn't honor the sales agreement - my guess is your sales agreement didn't commit them to holding onto the truck until your finances were in a position to buy it. Unless I'm missing something, your comment about not honoring an agreement isn't accurate.
How long have you been an employee of MD?You cant afford the truck. Plain and simple. Just move on.
I think he had a simple request and wanted to send 10k still doesn't seem right or something's missing. You cant afford the truck. Plain and simple. Just move on.
The same amount of time you have been able to afford this truck. How long have you been an employee of MD?
If demeaning people online make you feel better about yourself, I'm glad I could help. The same amount of time you have been able to afford this truck.
Dude you threw the first punch. You can't complain that the counter punch dropped you!If demeaning people online make you feel better about yourself, I'm glad I could help.
How did I throw the first punch exactly?Dude you threw the first punch. You can't complain that the counter punch dropped you!
I'm sorry you must of missed his original comment... This thread was established to find out if anyone else has had a similar experience. Not for a few know it-alls to chime in with unwanted feedback. I'm not looking for justification or really anything else other than to make buyers aware of the nature of this dealer and how they choose to handle their business.Perhaps when you asked him how long he had been an employee of Mark Dodge??
There are a few offering up to 11k off. Mark Dodge is one and Jim Glover is another.I started shopping around for the RHO ! Is mark dodge really cutting 11 k off MSRP??
Mark Dodge was an awesome experience for me. I would definitely and most likely will use them again when the wife needs a vehicle, and I live in Florida. I’ve bought numerous cars all over the place and I found them to be one of the best, if not the best to deal with. It was a seamless operation. Though my Ram has had a ton of issues in the last few days. They have been very helpful even though I’m a few states away.Did anyone else have issues with Mark Dodge? Customer service complaints, etc? Personally had a disagreement with the staff, they were rude and refused to honor my sales agreement or refund my "non-refundable" deposit. Just looking for feedback if anyone else is in the same boat.
Exactly my point. Storing the truck for a couple of weeks when it arrives early vs trying their luck selling it on the lot racking up floor plan fees. The 10k was only to show my commitment to buying the truck nothing more...I didn't order from Mark Dodge but to answer your first question no you are the first to express these issues other than their security deposit requirements which they are very clear about. Did it specify a timeframe of when it needs to be picked up when it arrives at the dealership? If not, I can see that being frustrating. Keep in mind they are super high volume dealership. Storing these trucks cost them. Just cuz you offer to put down 10k means nothing since it doesn't change their margins
How did I throw the first punch exactly?
You started this thread saying the dealership didn't honor their agreement - but after asking some pretty basic questions, that doesn't seem like the case. You questioned the integrity of the dealership and so far, it appears like the issue was you - not them. Just because he called you on it and you didn't like his delivery doesn't make him wrong. While I agree it probably sucks to see your truck come and go, their margins have to be razor thin at these prices - so carrying the inventory for two weeks or more makes the economics worse. Just order another one! No one likes being out $1,000 - but at this price level it seems like a rounding error.I'm sorry you must of missed his original comment...
