Mark Dodge Issues

I don't think they are being unreasonable. They can sell a truck on the lot for a lot more - and if you aren't in a position to pull the trigger now, how do they know you will be in two weeks? My understanding when I ordered mine is that it would be purchased as soon as they had it - not weeks later. To be honest, this sounds like you not upholding your side of the deal - not them. Your original post said they didn't honor the sales agreement - my guess is your sales agreement didn't commit them to holding onto the truck until your finances were in a position to buy it. Unless I'm missing something, your comment about not honoring an agreement isn't accurate.

Edit - I looked at my agreement. If yours has language like this, then I agree that they didn't uphold their agreement. View attachment 5322
Is this Koons or Mark Dodge complaint???? Mark Dodge doesn't have a $995 processing fee so I'm assuming it's Koons. Very confusing post.

So you had since last May to ensure your finances were in order and weren't able to do that? That is not MD's fault or problem. The price of the vehicle is stated when you place the order with them. You know down to the penny how big of a check you have to write. Sound like you're stretching yourself thin and passing undue blame onto the dealer.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I have ordered and bought multiple vehicles from Mark Dodge @AnthonyRI and Aaron have always been great to deal with. They have never been anything but upfront. You are exactly right, when you sign the contract you know exactly how much the vehicle is going to cost you. Every day that a vehicle sits on their lot it cost them. Hence the what they are paying for that vehicle cost. They can’t charge that to the customer because of a signed contract. They have to hold up their end, so the customer should as well. If they would have said sure we’ll hold it but we have to add whatever cost we incur onto you, he would have been just as pissed and said “but we signed a contract”. You can’t make everyone happy but I know for a fact that everyone at Mark Dodge goes out of their way to try to make everyone happy. I can’t even say sorry for the experience because, it wasn’t caused by the dealer whatsoever. If you can’t afford an 80k+ truck at the time of order, then you shouldn’t order it, it sounds like living outside your means, not trying to be negative, that’s just what it sounds like.

I'm up in Evergreen, don't see a flat bed truck making it up here. Was there more than one vehicle on your delivery truck?
Yes, it was a 3 car slant, with one more rho headed for SLC and a car in front of that

I picked up my October 26 order today. Luckily I made the trek to the dealership to take delivery in person. The battery issue reared its head before we left the parking lot. Robert quickly took over, got the batteries swapped out and everything tested and we were on our way. 100 miles later everything is going smoothly. Dealer experience was crazy good and easy from start to finish. @AnthonyRI was amazing as was everyone else after the order. I have no doubt they would honor the deposit return as long as it conformed to the agreement that any who ordered from there signed.

Why on earth would you ask a dealership to hold a vehicle you have waited 9 months for AND custom ordered ? Like other have said, you have had this entire time to get finances in line, or your plan to pickup figured out. If its financial then you shouldn't be buying the most expensive half ton truck on the market. If its time to get down there just ship the dam thing to your driveway. good lord man. The only bad experience that happened here was you not able to read a contract and prepare for the item you agreed to purchase. LOL

I didn't order from Mark Dodge but to answer your first question no you are the first to express these issues other than their security deposit requirements which they are very clear about. Did it specify a timeframe of when it needs to be picked up when it arrives at the dealership? If not, I can see that being frustrating. Keep in mind they are super high volume dealership. Storing these trucks cost them. Just cuz you offer to put down 10k means nothing since it doesn't change their margins
The way I understood it was that they wanted finance to be completed with 5 business days of arrival at the dealership. I understood that before I signed on the “dotted line” when going over the order process with @AnthonyRI. Mine came in 2-4 months earlier than expected. I made due. Put about half what I intended and will make up the rest with extra payments to the lender. Ordering a vehicle has to be fluid. I knew that going in. There were a lot of “plausables” and few guarantees. The dealer is an extremely small portion of the equation.
