Mark Dodge Issues

I don't think they are being unreasonable. They can sell a truck on the lot for a lot more - and if you aren't in a position to pull the trigger now, how do they know you will be in two weeks? My understanding when I ordered mine is that it would be purchased as soon as they had it - not weeks later. To be honest, this sounds like you not upholding your side of the deal - not them. Your original post said they didn't honor the sales agreement - my guess is your sales agreement didn't commit them to holding onto the truck until your finances were in a position to buy it. Unless I'm missing something, your comment about not honoring an agreement isn't accurate.

Edit - I looked at my agreement. If yours has language like this, then I agree that they didn't uphold their agreement. View attachment 5322
Is this Koons or Mark Dodge complaint???? Mark Dodge doesn't have a $995 processing fee so I'm assuming it's Koons. Very confusing post.

So you had since last May to ensure your finances were in order and weren't able to do that? That is not MD's fault or problem. The price of the vehicle is stated when you place the order with them. You know down to the penny how big of a check you have to write. Sound like you're stretching yourself thin and passing undue blame onto the dealer.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I have ordered and bought multiple vehicles from Mark Dodge @AnthonyRI and Aaron have always been great to deal with. They have never been anything but upfront. You are exactly right, when you sign the contract you know exactly how much the vehicle is going to cost you. Every day that a vehicle sits on their lot it cost them. Hence the what they are paying for that vehicle cost. They can’t charge that to the customer because of a signed contract. They have to hold up their end, so the customer should as well. If they would have said sure we’ll hold it but we have to add whatever cost we incur onto you, he would have been just as pissed and said “but we signed a contract”. You can’t make everyone happy but I know for a fact that everyone at Mark Dodge goes out of their way to try to make everyone happy. I can’t even say sorry for the experience because, it wasn’t caused by the dealer whatsoever. If you can’t afford an 80k+ truck at the time of order, then you shouldn’t order it, it sounds like living outside your means, not trying to be negative, that’s just what it sounds like.

I'm up in Evergreen, don't see a flat bed truck making it up here. Was there more than one vehicle on your delivery truck?
Yes, it was a 3 car slant, with one more rho headed for SLC and a car in front of that

I picked up my October 26 order today. Luckily I made the trek to the dealership to take delivery in person. The battery issue reared its head before we left the parking lot. Robert quickly took over, got the batteries swapped out and everything tested and we were on our way. 100 miles later everything is going smoothly. Dealer experience was crazy good and easy from start to finish. @AnthonyRI was amazing as was everyone else after the order. I have no doubt they would honor the deposit return as long as it conformed to the agreement that any who ordered from there signed.

Why on earth would you ask a dealership to hold a vehicle you have waited 9 months for AND custom ordered ? Like other have said, you have had this entire time to get finances in line, or your plan to pickup figured out. If its financial then you shouldn't be buying the most expensive half ton truck on the market. If its time to get down there just ship the dam thing to your driveway. good lord man. The only bad experience that happened here was you not able to read a contract and prepare for the item you agreed to purchase. LOL

I didn't order from Mark Dodge but to answer your first question no you are the first to express these issues other than their security deposit requirements which they are very clear about. Did it specify a timeframe of when it needs to be picked up when it arrives at the dealership? If not, I can see that being frustrating. Keep in mind they are super high volume dealership. Storing these trucks cost them. Just cuz you offer to put down 10k means nothing since it doesn't change their margins
The way I understood it was that they wanted finance to be completed with 5 business days of arrival at the dealership. I understood that before I signed on the “dotted line” when going over the order process with @AnthonyRI. Mine came in 2-4 months earlier than expected. I made due. Put about half what I intended and will make up the rest with extra payments to the lender. Ordering a vehicle has to be fluid. I knew that going in. There were a lot of “plausables” and few guarantees. The dealer is an extremely small portion of the equation.

What did you pay for shipping if you don’t mind sharing? In Colorado myself- at the rail yard as of 1/13.
SHIPPING - If you plan to have Mark Dodge (or any dealer) arrange the shipping, do yourself a favor and get your own quotes ahead of time. They were a little busy last week so it took them over 2 days to tee it up. While waiting I got some all in quotes to ship it and I am on the hook for double what I could have done it for on my own. I’m paying $1,100 for 1,360 miles and I had (5) offers from $485-$650 within an hour of posting on a transport board, all fully insured and all fees included. Lesson learned. Everyone has been great to deal with at MD other than it being a really busy time for them last week when my truck hit the dealer.

I had a vehicle shipped from GA for ~$500 and my experience was such that I'm flying out and driving the ~1400 miles home with my vehicle this go round. I haven't a clue if all transporters are created equal but the guy that loaded up my lowered 2-seater did not use proper ramps, and dealing with their insurance was an exercise in frustration and circular logic.

My point was that you know exactly what you have to pay. And yes mine is from koons. But the OP said that mark wouldn’t honor his sales agreement. I was just asking what aspect they weren’t honoring bc everyone should know the price.

I'm glad you had a great experience. No more to the story. Simply they don't want to hold the vehicle any amount of time, which is their choice. It's just business. But after all of the threads coming out with issues I feel less bad. It was never about the deposit I really just wanted the truck I ordered and have been waiting since May of last year when I ordered it. Oh well...
That’s tough, I’m sure you’re super disappointed after waiting since May. I just read all my paperwork from Mark Dodge and it looks like they ask that you complete the transaction within 5 days of arrival. Hopefully you get another order in and get to enjoy the truck.

I have gone through the entire process now with Mark Dodge (have had the RHO about a week now). They were outstanding at every step along the way. I was initially skeptical about using a dealership 2 states over, but after it is all said-and-done, I would order from them again without hesitations. Anthony and Aaron, and the other 3-4 employees I worked with were all fantastic and made the process very easy.

My experience with MD was excellent. Took 9 months but that is a RAM issue.
They delivered to NOL and I drove it home.
Great communication and over 10k off.

My 2 cents as someone who has bought 3 trucks from MD (this will be my 4th). Things come up and life happens. Had to be out of state attending family emergencies involving my elderly parents when 2 of my trucks came in. Each time they worked with me and put no pressure on me to get paperwork completed or the truck picked-up within a certain period of time. They were super accommodating which I greatly appreciated.

I just took delivery last week from MD. I've lost count of the number of new vehicles i have purchased over my lifetime. Easily 40 or so. MD is the best of the best when it comes to both pricing and process. I really can't say enough good things about Anthony and Aaron.

It would be good if you can share what’s in your sales agreement and the reason you want a refund so we can know how

Yeah cause MD refused to hornor 35% off MSPR

Where’d you hear about 35% off MSRP? TK? The RHO doesn’t even qualify for the $500 military/first responder credit.

It was a joke. He's referring to the DB from TK's garage who spouts BS on a daily basis about major developments at Stellantis. Because one of his 80 predictions came true, he thinks he's Nostradamus and that we are all idiots.

Did anyone else have issues with Mark Dodge? Customer service complaints, etc? Personally had a disagreement with the staff, they were rude and refused to honor my sales agreement or refund my "non-refundable" deposit. Just looking for feedback if anyone else is in the same boat.
What issue did u have please? I just got notice that my truck is being delivered and will be delivered in short order.

If you scroll back through, it's all here. The Mark Dodge agreement says you have 5 days to close on the sale transaction (but not actually pick it up) after the vehicles arrives at the dealership. The OP asked for two weeks or so to get his finances in order and the dealership said no. While I get that it's disappointing, I think the conclusion most came to is that Mark Dodge did nothing but abide by the terms of their agreement. The OP also had like 9 months to get his finances arranged since it took so long for the vehicle to arrive. The dealership was not in the wrong IMO.

I'm not really following this thread but from you summery that's what I gathered as well. I don't know if someone mentioned this or not, but keeping vehicle on dealer lot does cost them money. I don't think MD is at fault. They could've kept it as a courtesy but they are not required..
