RHO range and MPG

Well, im still breaking in the truck. So far I 800 miles on it, and my latest mpg report was 13.2mpg. About 70% highway, there were about 3 WOT pulls in there. I also let it idle in the mornings or when its been off for a couple hours so that it warms up . I mainly stick to the speed limit. I'll be applying for a costco cc so I can get those full points...

Hand calculated.

As the president said, "drill baby dril." Gas will be $2.15/gallon in 3 months. You'll be ok.
What makes you think they will pass any savings on to consumers?

They won't. Money is not in the oil, it's in the refinement.

Fun fact, you can get up to 99mpg, and it's wild to see. I learned how to steadily get over 16mpg and how easy it is to get in 11s. It all comes down to aerodynamics and our truck is as aerodynamic as a brick shaped paper airplane.

Exactly they won’t

Um . . . history?? 2016-2020 compared to 2020-2024 seems quite different . . .

Everyone seems to forget that oil companies are a FOR PROFIT business. There are many years they will run in the red but when they make money everyone freaks out. They are on the slimmest of margins. And if ANY of you have a 401k or mutual fund etc, benefit from the profits called dividends. And your supporting your brothers and sisters who work for them.

I bet many of you own an Iphone but dont care its made it China and the HUGE profits Apple makes.

SMH

Yeah the thing here is that there's no incentive for them to charge less, regardless of what the cost to them is. They've seen what the market will bear and they'll keep prices there.

Look at everything else that hiked due to "COVID supply chain." Those never came back down either.

Supply and demand. More world wide oil supply drives down demand which drives down prices. Democrats have implemented every policy they possible could to raise fuel, transportation, shipping, and heating and air conditioning costs.

That's adorably simplistic. Your clear bias aside, oil and gasoline prices are not tethered to one another. Gas (a refined product) pricing is only impacted by supply and demand in the most extreme circumstances (like pandemic). There are many other forces at play in that industry. Why does fuel get cheaper in election years? Demand doesn't change but prices do. Tons of books (its like Facebook but on paper and without click bait) to learn about elasticity and inelasticity. It's fun to throw opinion stones and takes just so much work to learn and be educated.

In regards to political party influence, I'd imagine your referencing fuel taxes and yes tend to be higher in states that use those taxes to fund infrastructure projects. It's the yin and yang.

Now show me on the stuffed bear, where the mean Democrats hurt you :ROFLMAO:

Delusional Take

You also have to realize how much the government affects pricing. I work for a chemical company and can tell you how vastly different administrations have a positive or negative differences on profits. Be it, environmental, legal, taxing bodies etc. It is definitely nuanced, however supply and demand have a huge impact to what the end consumer pays.

Yeah, we get kicked in the teeth in Arizona because of California's ridiculous overregulation, they supply the majority of our gasoline. (Texas/New Mexico combine for a smaller amount) With the last round of regulatory changes ramrodded through by Gov Newsom Phillips 66 is closing down one of its refineries Q4 this year, and now Valero has announced that it will be closing 2 of their refineries later this year as well. This will mean a reduction of 22% of locally refined gas and it is predicted that it will result in a 20-25% increase in fuel costs for AZ. I'm not a fan of those buffoons over in Cali...

Gas never went above $2.25 for regular during his first term because they were drilling and using American oil. He's not going to drill so ExxonMobil can get richer. They already make a billion a year. You'll see. Gas prices are 3 months behind what is happening so I would guess by May, June we will see gas in the mid-twos.

The US is currently producing more oil than at any other time in our history. The oil companies are experts at price manipulation and if anyone thinks they aren't going to protect their multi-billion quarterly profits you're kidding yourself. They raise prices and we continue to give them $750B/year in subsidies courtesy of the US taxpayer.
