RHO range and MPG

I was stucked in the mid to low 12's, for the first 200 miles, I've done something different lately. I've been using the custom mode with everything set to street except the transmission, I have that set to sport. I'm now get 13.2 mpg, it never goes into ith gear anymore, but it seems for my roads and traffic conditions I've been getting about .75 more mpg. This all could be placebo effect, who knows, but from what the computer is telling me it's getting a little better mileage

Not here. 12.1 according to the computer. I don’t care. I love this truck!
Right there with you. I've been hoarding receipts in giant console compartement (no clue what to do with that area) and tallied up my total gals to total miles, and subtracted dealer miles. Assuming dealer filled full, I am right around 11.4 mpg but that's mostly Texas windy highway and 75 mph.

I top off frequently and ignore the mpg estimator page. I found the ignorance to be pure bliss.

I'm averaging about 9.5mpg, I set cruise at 83mph on my trips... watch the gas gauge move faster than anything else. Gives me between 300 and 340 miles a tank estimate 😂

11.9 mpg and still dropping, this is mostly form the 600 miles of mostly city and some interstate. Currently at 1,673 miles, 1,050 was from Mark Dodge, LA to Raleigh'ish, NC. This is normal driving. I get some uptick with more time on an interstate but city driving keeps decreasing.

The MPG is the only thing keeping me on the fence picking this thing up. Anyone have some towing MPG with just a car on a flatbed type setup?

Towing with this will be brutal on the mpg. She drinks a lot with just her own weight. I tow infrequently so the hit will be nominal but I wouldn't recommend an RHO for frequent haulers, unless you hate money and love a great ride.

Agree 100%! She DRINKS when she's in the boost. (But she's fun) Reminds me of the F-150 with the EcoBoost. All my Ford construction buddies bragging about the great fuel mileage ratings of the EcoBoost, but then when we go on a road trip and dragging any kind of trailers my Ram Hemi would do better on gas by several MPG's in every situation.

That’s a small fear of mine. We got pretty decent mileage towing our boat with the hemi. Don’t think we will with the RHO. But will know soon enough as it’s almost boating season here in Texas.

Yeah I just wouldn't love 6mpg towing my show car. I want the truck to have fun, go camping with my fishing kayak in the back and then every so often be able to tow my Civic to car shows.

100% - my Eco hated towing - but the Hemi did fine

If I did not already have the truck, the MPG would probably turn me away. Two reasons I'm keeping the truck. 1. Got 14k off. 2. The RHO Level 1 is really, really F'n nice. Interior blows the Raptor away. The amount of choices and customization with the displays are awesome, tons of features. I like the heads up display, cooled and heated front and rear seats, massaging seats, it's really comfortable. Wind buffeting with only one window open is really bad, messes up the pressure in my ears, even at low speeds. Hopefully because it's been cold but the truck sitting for 10 days and the battery was dead. Key barely worked. Gotta put it in battery storage mode. The truck is mostly quite but there are lots of rattles. Something in or with the back seats. Similar with closing the back doors, sounds like parts that are not fully isolated. Otherwise I'll keep it, getting it wrapped and the extend warranty 8y/85k.

One thing I have noticed is the difference in fuel at specific locations. Sheetz is the big fuel station around here and the RHO mileage was terrible. I have tried Rutters and BP fuels and have seen 1-2 mpg improvement. Winter blends and this crazy cold weather are always going to drop mpgs. Hoping when warmer temps come back around, we see some improvements which I think is very possible. I know my HEMIs always did much better on fuel when the temps were over 60.

Less butane.

First thing you do is deleted the MPG off your dash and just enjoy the truck.. never open and look at it.. we all know it’s bad, why hurt yourself by knowing exactly how bad

Averaging a stout 9.8mpg over 1100 miles, mixed driving... lots of autostart. Here's hoping that gets better in the summer

I'm pretty positive if you plan on towing anything with this truck I'm guessing Sub 6mpg. You better get an Fn auxiliary gas tank in the Box

Wow you guys getting some bad mpg I'm guessing most in snow weather. My first tank 14.61 and 408 hand calculated. Still had 60 estimate left or so it showed.

I'm in AZ with summer gas and can't break into 12's any longer. I think I'm gonna try and get my wife to randomly fill it up without telling me to improve my hand calculations ;)

The only way I could get into 14-16 range was keeping it steady between 35-45 without stoplights and country roads. The constant go/no go conditions in the city drag me waaaay down.
