Someone has financed with federal navy

I was wondering this too. I keep seeing about them mailing checks which seems an absurdly inefficient option in the year of our Lord 2025.
It's absolutely silly and wildly inconvenient. I had it overnighted but had to be cognizant of where it was in my baggage mess after days of Hotel hopping. I'd have happily paid a wire fee to not have to muck with check but not an option.

Got my check today and it was very much not blank, LOL. down to the penny but I also didn't give myself a buffer, because I didn't need it.
If you pick pre approval you put in what you want and they send a blank check that you can use up to the pre approved amount. The other option is a normal financing where you need to know the vehicle you will be buying and price.

You can pick it up at a branch next day as well.
According to their website there are no branches within 100 miles of me. Still feels like EFT is not a new technology.

US banking is stuck in the 1800s for some reason, even wires are decades old tech that there is an absolute refuasl to replace.

I mean this seems unique to NFCU. Never dealt with this with any other bank or CU. But either way, doesn't really matter. Not gonna change it

Yeah the mailing a check is a NFCU thing, never encountered it either with other banks.

I'm planning to go and pick it up at my local NFCU bank.

Can any one put me on to navy federal?

Wells Fargo through Mark Dodge was able to come down from 6.44% to 5.94% when I told them NFCU had me at 5.79%.

For me personally, this was close enough to not deal with the paper check 1955-era NFCU.

Same here had a credit union approved me at 5.11% 0 down and 78 months. Chase approved at 6.69. asked my brother to contact them to ask if they can do better since I would prefer to stay with them. They were able to do 5.69 so I went with them just because I have personal and business accounts with them.

Nice! I'd have done the same it your situation. I'll always pay more for convenience and excellent service

if im buying remotely through mark dodge what is the best way for navy federal besides paper check? also going to have them run and see what rates i can get through them but wanted to minimize credit pulls and have the navy federal pull as close as possible to when i have MD run it.

As long as your credit pulls are all for auto loan and within (30 days...I think), they will all count as one pull. You only get dinged when you do pulls for different types of credit but home and auto loans ding you only the once in whatever the timeframe is, so you don't lose 100 points when mortgage guy shops you around dozens of places.

In regards to paper check, its just how Navy Fed does business. You could pick it up local and mail it to them next day, but keep in mind you would have to sign it in two places so there is the slightest of chances that it could go sideways for you. Probably so slight that its super safe...probably. :ROFLMAO:

My truck moved to shipped so I applied for pre approval yesterday. Asked for 50k and got a near instant approval at 4.49 and a blank check in the mail today not to exceed 50k. Could not be easier or faster A+++

That's a crazy good rate. All of my metrics are good but I'm "young"so I'm guessing that's the main ding.

How does Mark Dodge handle the paper check from Navy Federal? You just bring the check with you when you pick up the truck?
