What's new

I have a a scheduled date!

I'm asking my self the same fn question 🤔
White level 1 May 8th and we still have people saying to be patient?
Being patient is the only viable path forward. We were told that orders would ship 3rd quarter in a best case scenario but also not guaranteed to be part of that wave, even more so were told that the build order would seem random and to not get frustrated. Eighty highlighted the randomness of order date and receiving date meticulously.

When ordering a new model first year, you have to just keep good spirits and live your life. I ordered a cyber truck in first hours it opened, gave it a good almost 4-6 years (stopped counting) and imagine my disappointment when it was nothing like we were told, price had almost doubled, and they only gave some of us a day of notice to go pick up the shiny turd. This isn't that, as we know exactly what we are getting, it won't take several years, and your price is locked it. I find solace in that. Every time I see a Cybertruck, I am beyond thankful I dodged that silver bullet, but if I walked away from RHO and saw them in the wild, I'd feel regret. Thats me, but you do you.

Now this surprises me. Nationwide they've only received 2,330 pre-orders? Using trend line and assuming all those were built in sold this year it would only make up less than 2% of their total sold inventory. I'd have thought it would be closer to 5%.

It almost seems as though they started stacking pages of the orders in a pile as they came in, with oldest orders on the bottom. Then grabbed from the top of the stack to start building.

I've seen the ATF do that on suppressor and SBR form 4's before. Seems to be so random.
Dont even get me started on the ATF.

What you said.

We get anxious because we see movement and some of us ordered in May. But I'm ok getting the third or fourth major builds so I know the kinks are out. Just have to stop checking as soon as I wake up. Lol.

Shoot I’ll give @AnthonyRI an extra grand in his pocket if he can get me mine before mid October lol
If I had the power to do that, I wouldn't need the $$$. You know what those exec salaries look like LOL!

Little off topic but I kinda relates to progression of builds. Does anyone know if they have started building any of the night edition/body color bumper version of the limited? It seems they were slated to start after the original RHO build dates were given.

@AnthonyRI any indication granite will be available soon?

White level 1 here and mine only sat in D for 11 days. I'm happy (of course) and feel bad for everyone who ordered months ago. Unsure when it'll hit production but I'll keep everyone posted.

YES just no forged blue still.
Otherwise yes we have night edition limiteds on the lot and in transit

I wonder if press drives are still scheduled for early October?

Bottom line…until the embargo lifts, nobody is getting their RHO…even those in J status.

Embargo? Please advise

Embargo? Please advise
Embargo means journalists & YouTubers get access to vehicles, but cannot release any driving impressions until the embargo lifts. This ensures that no single media outlet gets the jump on publishing their findings.

Think about it like this…if Journalist A gets his/her drive on Oct 1st & publishes their data immediately, who is gonna care about reading Journalist B’s review if he/she doesn’t get vehicle access until Oct 3rd.

These media events cost manufacturers some $$, but they result in TONS of exposure & “advertising”. Manufacturers take care of their media outlets & media outlets return the favor by following embargo rules.

How does that affect us? Well, if Joe Public gets his/her hands on a full production vehicle 1st, before the embargo lifts, he won’t care about reading the journalist’s impression. He/she might even publish their own review on this site. Manufacturers and journalists don’t want that.

I hear you, but also your marketing dollars aren't targeting the people who have already given you a deposit to purchase this truck.

The whole cycle just feels off for this release.

It's unwise to put the cart before the horses. We live in a world of social marketing and as such, that will always be the priority on EVERY vehicle experiencing a new launch or even a refresh. Unchanged annual cycles still seem to follow that pattern frequently, but not as prevalent for sure.

What probably feels off, is that lately we have seen most manufacturers have these events many months before pre-orders even begin, like Landcruiser, 4Runner, Lexus GX, Ioniq 5, new Santa Fe, Bronco, etc. This seems like media will get their event mere weeks before they enter the wild. It's different than the trend but, it is what it is.

Agree and this reminds me of when new Tundra popped out 2 years ago. Toyota does not do orders but allocations. I jumped on one to be built with fingers crossed with it being exactly what was wanted.
Guys even more frustrated under that system.
Of course once I got it realized it wasnt so great and quality was not near what it was on my older Tundras.
One concern on this truck is the Tundra was not a smooth drive motor wise. Too much abruptness at times.
Fingers crossed that I love this half as much as the Ram dually using mostly to tow.
