Media Test Drives Are Out (MT, C&D, R&T, etc..)!!!

Have I missed something on MPG's? Is it rated at 16 highway or 21 highway? I see from various media outlets are saying something like 16-17 but looking on RAM's website, I see 21????

Idk if ram is making their own numbers or just not updating to what the EPA mpg is. The window stickers show 14/16.

At 6200 pounds, 35 inch tires, and a 3.92 axle that would be quite a stretch to expect anywhere near that. But 17 would be amazing on the hwy. we can wish

I do wonder how much a 2wd mode would help things in that (MPG) department, being its 4awd/4hi essentially. Still want one but just thinking how I'll use it etc.

I'm not sweating too much about it since I'm only getting 15.6 average on my 5.7 Hemi leveled and on 35s. I do around 23-30k miles a year too but always decide to change tires for some reason for instant 2mpg loss 😂

Not a show stopper but when irdered i admit i thought it was the original manufacturer numbers above. As usually no solid numbers posted if EPA hasn't certified it. Do wonder if some will argue misleading. 6 more MPG is a big difference.

Yeah it’s a huge difference. It’s unfortunate and they really need to update their website to show the true numbers.

With its weight, aerodynamics and 540hp engine we’ll be lucky to get that 16 hwy the epa says and that’s if we’re going 65 with a tailwind lol

I'm feeling the same way. I'm not sure if it's the $85K price when it's all leveled up or if we've all just waited too long. I'm not sure why the hype seems to have died down? Maybe because there is nothing about the truck that really blows away the TRX or Raptor V6. Exhaust note is lackluster, but I'm sure there will be aftermarket packages for that, 100 more HP than the Raptor, but it's not wicked fast: Raptor v6 does 0-60 in 5.2s. Raptor's FOX Factory shocks are just objectively better than the Bilsteins, but the interior is worse for sure. RAM has the best interior in the business, hands down.

I'm wondering if I should look at either the 2025 SST Rebel or the 2024 V8 Rebel and just put a set of KING shocks on it, lift it and call it a day? Maybe the dealer will give a big break on that model and I won't have to wait an unknown length of time to get the RHO. This is just taking too long...

I agree 100 percent. I was hoping it would just have a quiet exhaust honestly to me it sounds awful. Like a Honda Civic with Dual Exhaust. I'm leaning toward at the moment backing out and just purchasing something else. Also who knows when I will actually get the truck if I wait. I'm very unimpressed.

I'm not sure why these reviews have me questioning if I'm going to follow through or walk from my deposit. I was so excited to wake up this morning and watch all these reviews, but now i'm scratching my head. I think the constant comparison between the TRX in all of these videos has reminded me that the body style has been out and unchanged since 2020 (21' model year). The interior updates have been nominal (gauge cluster) and this truck is ±95% a TRX with a smaller engine. The technology is fine, but antiquated cameras and how the huge display is under utilized. Decent self-driving, but not great. Man...I didn't ever think i would be saying this, but i've lost a bit of the RHO excitement. Someone get me back on track and tell me otherwise.
Glad to know I'm not the only one. I've been really looking hard at other trucks the last few days.

30% off is more than just arguably misleading. That'd be like taking delivery and realizing it's got 380HP.

Agree and many argue “ger its a bad ass truck , what do you expect yada yada”. I agree But when it was indicated to have some really good numbers that does make a big difference driving 15-20 k miles a year. Its really “kool” to see jumps but more important to many how it is as a daily driver etc. i am on the fence as well, for this and a few other reasons.

I'll gladly accept no V8 sound for all the power & tuning potential the HO Hurricane has. It's basically a BMW S58 for the masses, IMO. Lots left on the table for aftermarket tuning & relatively easy power increases.

Also, a 3 ton truck with > 500hp and 35" tires, not sure what people were expecting for fuel economy. My old Tundra averages 14 MPG with 150 less hp & 33" AT tires. Again, I think it's important to keep things in perspective...

Uh..maybe what some were expecting what was indicated by the manufacturer??? I have had 4 Tundra guzzlers, a first gen raptor, and others. Currently a HO 3500 Ram dually so not new to “13” mpg. But i know Ram never said “21” highway under ideal conditions ect for my dually.

When is one allowed to note such a discrepency? If you get 11,12? When your RHO arrives is that in the complaint zone? Or maybe 9 , which is same drop as Ram literature to EPA rating?

I just assumed ram screwed up and i never took that number serious. Once the epa number came out then it made much more sense

If your main concern was fuel economy and daily drivability, this probably wasn't the truck for you in the first place.
You would probably be much happier in a Limited with street tires and god awful 20 inch rims(or bigger)

Again, not the point. Sure a alot of people would be happy with what was posted . Same deal as if they said 27 for a limited but its 21 now. Agree 100% I think it may be an awesome truck. Part of reason some didnt question the initial rating was its a new motor in a 1500 and did look at it as a typo.

But i get it that. Most guys didnt look at much better gas mileage as a big win. Some did.

Couldn't agree more - the reviews and lack of communication from ram has all been really underwhelming.

I'm really not concerned with the gas milage. My daily commute is <15 miles, round trip.
Other than a few solo trips here and there around Southern California, we use my wife's SUV for family adventures.
