Misfiring after 475 miles

My 2025 Rebel did the same thing @1500 miles. Started with a slight misfire to not starting. Truck said on but not in park, but was running. They had to replace both battery, reprogram the system. After they started it for the 1st time had to disconnect the neg side of batter for 20 mins to clear system of a corrupt code that is downloaded for the wifi temp subscription. The TCM or TMC on the motor was doing a negative draw off the battery. Not sure just what I was told. Truck runs fine now.
Thanks for the info hopefully a fix for all coming soon!

So far no software update. Trying to get them to open a star case and get engineering involved. Still no update as to the why they melted. Gave them a few areas to look at from posts on here like the star case, and some advise from selling dealers service side and my buddies, and dealer isn’t really giving me the vibes they want to dig into the why… If I do get any better news from my dealer I’ll let y'all know. At this point would like to have cats replaced get it delivered to my home since I’m 3 hours from where it broke down and get it to my local dealer if it breaks again since I worked there for seven years and I feel comfortable with them and know they will dig into it and open the star cases the things this shop should be doing. Just trying to stay hopeful!

RAM engineer will be in tomorrow so hoping to have more information to share then
Hopefully he will be looking at mine as well that has been sitting there since Monday - I was told yesterday that it needs the engineer to look at it do to the inop driver's automatic door lock and if that is contributing to the flashing odometer

Edit - I have 498 miles on mine
😑

I'm sorry but I could not disagree with this "assumed risk" line of thinking more strongly. These are nearly $90,000 vehicles. The internal combustion engine is not a new thing. RAM is not a startup.

Do things go wrong? Yes, of course. But to say it's ok or you should expect it as an early order is absurd to me. If that's the case, they should offer an early order discount for doing their testing for them.

Just my opinion, others are welcome to their own.
Matt,

I agree 100%.

This is not 1960's vehicle engineering.

With computer-aided modeling, a manufacturer of RAM's level can build an entire truck in a simulation.
For $90K, the truck should be NEARLY flawless when we get it.
We are consumers, not the RAM R&D Lab.

I have a feeling that a lot of pre sold orders will be passed on. Lots. Probably some good deals on dealer lots come 4th quarter 2025.

You're probably not wrong. When the most common issues render your vehicle undrivable, that is a big turn off. Nobody likes being stranded or not being able to count on a vehicle for work. 😕

It's an awesome looking truck with awesome potential, but potential doesn't get you down the road nor eliminate the troubles. I get first year models etc, but like you said. This is some basic stuff and from a company that's been around. I'm still in....for the moment, day by day.

I am pretty much only still in because I have $5k worth of accessories in the garage that only fit this truck or a TRX. Not my smartest move but who would've ever imagined all of this

That being said if anyone in Michigan wants a set of wheels/tires and a hard tonneau, I know a guy haha.

Haha same here just took everything out this weekend and sold my truck to brothers dealership on Tuesday. Don't want to risk more price drop since already lost a lot of value since April order.

I'm not walking away...

But I would like more feedback from the Dealer/Corporate side...

Silence is not how you address these situations.

Even a "Hey, folks. We're aware of the <Insert Issue>. We found <Cause>, and we're addressing it ASAP."

OR

"Hey, folks. We are aware of the issue and are working on a solution ASAP. Here's how we're going to help you."

The new CEO is an RHO guy. A quick email or voice blurb would go a long way to alleviate the fears of the folks dropping $85K+ on their product.

"The new CEO is an RHO guy." This part makes me not worried at all about any issues that are coming up.

Unfortunately all manufacturers have gotten away from the R&D that we are used to. These vehicles make so much data that they wait until there is a problem then chase it. Its no longer research and develop, now its release and develop. As a former flight test technician this drives me crazy and it would have never flown back in my days. Most of the bugs we are seeing now are software related, all of the modules do not speak the same language and are not playing nice with the new Atlantis high communication bus. I'm confident it will get sorted out. Hoping Stellantis gets good at software ASAP instead of relying on vendors to do it for them ..

@HTX @daniellelaven022 did either of yours make a weird rattling sound while accelerating prior to this? Mine has under 100miles, has been making this sound since I drove it off the lot. It’s not horrible but noticeable.

One would think someone that works for the "new CEO" might point out this forum to him. Maybe? You know, the folks that are purchasing then not purchasing his latest product. But, in the big picture of things we're small potatoes.

Do we have any kind of actual count of how many are experiencing this issue (cats melting) or other issues?
Getting nervous about taking delivery..

Yeah tell me about it. Do any of us want a dealership mechanic working on our new factory fresh trucks? The whole thing makes me sick and I've had my truck less than a month and can't drive it.

I tried to collect some of this data here but it didn't really take off at all.
