Percentage of RHOs with issues?

Do you have issues with your RHO

To all my RHO people having issues with your trucks, this thread is not to downplay the misery of having a brand new $80K+ vehicle with issues...

Stellantis/RAM need to address these issues, without doubt.

I'm a Data & Systems Analyst by trade. Everything I do is based on numbers.

I'm trying to gather data on what percentage of RHOs are having issues, vs. trucks that are problem free.

Say we have 300 members here...

If 75 of us are having issues with our trucks, that's 25% of the group. That would be very significant.

But, if RAM sold 5,000 trucks in the same time frame, and 250 (including our 75) are having issues, that's only 5% of trucks sold are experiencing problems.

I haven't picked up my truck yet. I'm just as anxious as everyone else at the thought of this $80k+ investment turning into a service cow. But I'm also trying to temper my anxiety with facts and knowledge.

I'm still hopeful that RAM will sort out all issues as quickly as possible.

If RAM doesn't solve these issues, we need help each other with Lemon Law data. Copies of service records for more that one vehicle with the same problem goes a long way.

I'm here for the long haul.
If you're tracking this information, maybe adding build date to the collected data as shown on the door jamb sticker? Just a thought, along with @AnthonyRI suggestion of VIN. I know if this information is to be sent to RAM at some point, they will be able to use the VIN to identify build date, but for us normies on the forum it might make things easier to track down issues if they do stem from a specific build period time frame.

These sensors have been around for a while. I’ve never had to “clean them off” on any other vehicle. Pretty much invisible from a problem perspective.
I have another Ram product and regularly get a simple warning. Something like " front collusion warning unavailable, clean windshield ".
Simple. No big crazy stuff or other symptoms/failures.
Just FYI.

Anyone know if the base model trucks are having the same battery issues? Wonder if there’s just so much more tech that the base models won’t see the problems? Or that’s just wishful thinking since my base model is due to get here in a couple weeks.

1400 miles trouble free. Got a brake code, cleared it, it never came back. Think it was just a fluke. Guessing my truck was one of the first 25 to 50 delivered to dealers.

No mechanical issues after 750 miles. Truck does have several cosmetic issues. There is a blemish in the paint on the drivers side, the tailgate is out of alignment and one of the plastic pieces on the hood was not seated properly. Plastic piece was fixed when I had power running boards installed. I did not address the paint and tailgate yet, however it was noted on delivery paperwork (bought out of state).

Curious what color you have?

This!! It's like "Reality TV" which is as fake as can be.
Don't believe everything you see on the 'net!!!!
TFL is legit and will give honest reviews

made me snicker .... could be a simple typo ... or maybe you are spot on !!!

I’m curious how many people that have got their truck on here and have not done this poll. Hopefully more people will fill it out as they get their trucks and drive them.

Do you remember the exact code? Were you able to clear it yourself? I have a permanent code "U0418 - Invalid Data Received From Brake System Control Module". Hasn't triggered a check engine light but it's preventing me from passing smog (I live in CA and bought the truck out of state). Unfortunately I can't clear the code with an OBD 2 scanner because it's a "permanent" code. I, too, think it's just a fluke. Planning to take it in to the dealership tomorrow.

I'm at about 800 miles and have had the truck for exactly 2 weeks. I'll start by saying that I've loved every minute of driving this truck. That said, I've been dealing with a few issues. The first is a permanent fault code (U0418 - Invalid Data Received From Brake System Control Module) that has prevented me from passing my emissions test. This code hasn't triggered a CEL. I was planning on taking it into the dealership tomorrow....HOWEVER, I came out to a dead battery today. Not sure what caused this. I just drove the truck yesterday (over 80 miles). I have a dashcam (not hardwired) that I unplug each time I shut the vehicle off. Will try to update once these issues are resolved.

Picked up Dec 20th, dead battery at around 400 miles on Dec 26th. Jumped the truck but all codes are on the dash. Drove fine with all the codes but drove it 30 miles to the dealer for diagnosis
Was the dealer able to resolve this issue?

My thought only - Ram won't care until one of the Youtubers has a problem. They could give a rat's ass about any of us. They know we don't have a voice.
Oh you have a voice. Ram is reading all your posts right now and tracking your issues. They have agencies they pay who spend all day on forums, social media, etc… looking for owner complaints or concerns. They then cross reference what they find with their database and track the information.

It is interesting that all of these issues seem to pop up right around the 500 mile mark. Nothing more to add, really, just an observation.
It is common for issues to crop up in the first 1k miles. That's why the first 90 days of ownership surveys are pretty handy and I report on them.

Good to hear. Let us know (if you get any intel) on what they intend to do to resolve the issues. It will be interesting to see how they act on all of the intelligence they are compiling.

What often happens is they try to separate the "flukes" from the consistent issues. I know. I've spoken to engineers about how they handle this.

Then, they group the consistent issue folks into a category and then narrow down what the problem is for their truck.

For example, I'm seeing a lot of people say they replaced the battery already. That would lead people to believe it is a bad batch of batteries. However, it could be something completely different.

Like with the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. There were hundreds with dead batteries. I asked Andre at TFL about it and he had just heard about it. The next day, his Colorado battery died.

It wasn't a battery issue at all. It was a software issue with an update that wouldn't install OTA. Since it wouldn't install properly the truck never turned off leading to a dead battery.

Those things happen. GM fixed the issue and I haven't heard a peep about it since.

any news on your delivery @testerdahl I know 12/31 was important date for you (BTW thanks for all the info you share)
