The Great Running Board Dilemma

Thank you, did they need any other items to do the install, or does that PN include everything necessary
its the product they sell, they have everything they need. Sorry, i think you are asking if you wanted to install it yourself. I'm not sure on the details of their install process.

Thanks for sharing - I was stuck between the RB20 (And even 30) slim vs standard ... I ended up going with standard after seeing some pics and trying to compare to my existing boards ..... the slim's had me concerned, it seems you might be able to see the mounting brackets more (especially on the under-side of the board) ... really just a personal preference, and I wanted a board that mounted close to the rocker panel, not leaving a visible gap between the board and the truck body. Im 100% sure I over thought the process - hopefully I get the RB20's on today (hammer down FedEx truck)
Exactly the same thoughts I had, so I also chose the RB20 standard width. Unlike you,I have the running boards, but I’m waiting on my truck. Haha!

I pretty much agree - the big differences I contemplated ...
- Go with factory integrated Mopar power boards (control of the board from factory Uconnect - not really sure how important this is, but kinda nice to be integrated) - $2500
- Magnet mounted control - Go Rhino, Rough Country, etc (fairly easy self install, look and operate good - no control from UConncect) - $1000-$1500
- After Market off-road boards - $400-$800
as a point of reference - the Off Road Mopar Boards are $1200 when added at time of order .... but $2100 to add and have installed from dealer after the order is placed/delivered ... now this is a bad price, even my dealer said the Mopar power boards are better than standard off road boards at that price.
Nice breakdown. I don't need Uconnect though to control them just deploy/tuck when required that's it.

All set, thank you again. Just needed to know if I had to tell my local dealer any other parts to order so they can put them on. Having the dealer do it for that 2 year warranty (parts/labor) they offer if they install them.

Cross thread post - but
RB20's on today - fantastic - thanks @Nick797 ... install directions from Go Rhino could use some attention, but ... its boards .. cant be that hard right. FYI for anyone else with standard RB20's .. they are slightly tapered front to back (6 inch in front 5 inch in back) , its actually pretty cool - but keep that in mind when measuring or trying to line up. Also - didnt have the bracket issue since these were standard and not slim.

Nice work, those look good. Im glad you did get the issues i did.

Here are the Nfab Roan. These are a stop gap until the power running boards are available through RealTruck. I’m not a fixed running board fan but it’s too hard to get in and out 😂

They will be very inexpensive when we sell them in a few months for those of you in the Houston area. ;)

Thank you brother!! I so wanted a 4 door Charger just because of that. Didn’t work out but it’s a pretty amazing second. ;). Even my wife is on board with the Storm Trooper name. Plate frame and valve stem covers are storm troopers. :)
