Just purchased truck few hours ago and it died while driving on highway

I was thinking this too, but then I really looked at these forums and there’s been maybe five people that have issues. Also, I think when people have issues, they go looking on and posting on forums. I tried to look online elsewhere for information on RHO issues and could not come up with much.
I hear that. Lots of smaller sensor issues, and also battery/electrical.Also, a couple of people with melted cats. Now this issue. But what’s the bigger picture and how does this affect the vehicle long term?
And you have some of them (one guy particularly) who post their complaints at least once in every thread, no matter how unrelated the topic.
This is true too. Gotta track who/where the issues are coming from. But this is an expensive vehicle to have so many issues and not be reliable. That’s my opinion. I’m curious what others are thinking.

So will you go for another one?
Man, I just feel like this is so risky to spend this much on a vehicle that is having this many issues so far. I know we don’t hear about the success stories as much, but there are a lot of issues coming up.

Just curious to get your tag from someone who’s been through the ringer..
This is my first full size truck and I don’t know if I liked that or the truck it’s self but I liked it enough that I want another one even though this one failed this bad.

I doubt they will have that engine replaced within 30 days of your 'incident', so you should qualify for a refund or a new truck. There should be customer trucks that people back out of that they can put you in that are identical or close to your build. As long as you get the same discount this is the way to go. If you find yourself in a bind and have to go the route of letting them replace the engine, demand a bumper to bumper warranty for at least 7 years/100k miles.
Yeah for sure would demand an extended warranty if I do end up with it. Unless it’s my identical build, i don’t wanna just grab someone else’s truck. If im paying this kind of money, I wanna get exactly what I want and not just settle for something

SO I HAVE A UPDATE AND ITS NOT A GOOD …

They are working with a stellantis engineer and they found out that the fuel injector stuck open and flooded the motor with fuel causing the engine to HYDROLOCK!. The fix is putting a new motor in but they are saying this isn’t a motor they can just order, it has to be generated for the dealer.. they said they are having a meeting about this with Stellantis on Thursday morning and will have more info about moving forward on Friday.

Anyone with any advice I what I should do or could do… would this hurt the value of my truck? Will the truck now have mismatched vin numbers?
Sorry to hear bro.

Can’t wait to get my deposit back and wait this shit out…a big NOPE.

Even though I ran into this issue, I’m reordering a getting into a new one. I liked the truck enough where I don’t care. I understand shit happens. If it happens again, I’ll probably end up with a TRX but otherwise I’m still on the RHO train

That’s great man, you’re more positive than I am. I just know my luck, and I’d have the same issues or worse and I don’t need that stress. I think waiting for the 2026 model makes sense for me hoping they worked through the kinks. Hope your new year is better 🤙🏼

Same. Thinking the same. Too big of a gamble for my blood. It's not even the money, just don't want to purchase the pain. Is 2 in 10 bad, 1 in 10, 1 in 100? Even more disgusting is the apparent lack of care from the manufacturer. And then there's the April, May, June orders fiasco (I'm not one of those). Just poor class in my opinion. Shameful lack of care and ability from a manufacturer
For me the RHO was a want not a need.

The dealer gave you the thumbs up for to order another one?

The one thing I took away from your bad experience, is that I'm having my truck shipped, I can't have the possibility of being stranded somewhere in between LA & CO, other than that I'm excited for it & staying positive for a badass truck!

Not yet, Stellantis engineers are having a big meeting about my truck on Thursday morning. I’ll probably talk to dealer on Friday.
Good luck. They should learn from your issue, to fix it for the future, and put you at the top of the list for a new truck.

This is insane. I don’t believe this is only happening to non you tubers. Why the hell are there no YT peeps talking about this? Oh that’s right. Terms of press release loaners stating no negative PR. SMH
Uh, I’m a YT peep. Where the F did you get the “no negative PR” statement? What a load of BS.

Why? They're able to pretend everything is fine and have a list of dumbasses like us trying to pay them $85k for vehicles they a) seem incapable of building and b) even once built are riddled with serious and dangerous issues.

They have no incentive to do better.
That’s absurd. All engineers have an incentive to do better. I’ve had some issues with all the new trucks I’ve bought over the years from all the brands. Yup even mighty Toyota.

I have yet to talk with an engineer who is like, “oh well, it is there problem now.” They all have a lot of passion and strive to build a great product. That’s why they are in the roles they are in.

There's a difference between individual contributor motivations and corporate motivations. Sorry I didn't clarify that, I thought it was exceedingly obvious.

I was wondering why non of the PRESS vehicles hydrolocked and became bricks?????? They wouldn't want that to happen would they?
Simple. The odds are low. There are only around 5-7 RHO Press trucks in the entire country.

I feel any YouTuber who took a media truck for review signed a ‘do not tell’ agreement. It’s near to impossible every YouTuber had no trouble. Not buying it.
There is no such agreement. I've had plenty of issues with press loans over the years.

So now you are saying it is Stellantis and not the engineers who designed the truck?

Maybe you could use your podium to tell Ram that 1/3 of the members of this forum who have received their trucks have experienced problems with their trucks. I think the point is Ram doesn't care about the rest of us.
